One month official

Image
For the life of me I get a giggle at this everytime she sits like this.  It's been one month since we've had her. She's crawling out of her shell day by day.  From shaking in a corner, eating when everyone is gone, averting gaze, pulling at the leash when you try... She snuggles right up to you. She sniffs your face so she can give you a kiss. Once you snap that leash on, she hops off the bed or couch and walks outside.  We keep her on a potty schedule and when we stick to it, no accidents, not even on the carpet!! That's huge!  This is the first foster we've had that we feel comfortable leaving gates and doors open without her chewing up. bunch of toys or accidents we find in the morning.  It's quite refreshing!!

Playing with my daughter

It's amazing in a couple weeks what she's accomplished. This is huge!!

Opening up, exploring the new digs

A couple weeks in and she's doing well. She hesitates but REALLY wants to come when called. She eventually makes it over. When you sit on the couch and ignore her, she will come up and put her face in yours and start giving kisses.  She's getting used to all the normal home noises. My daughter drags the doggy steps across the whole place to reach light switches, lol, it's as disruptive as it can get.  When she smells food, she runs over to the kitchen (no hesitation) to check things out. She DEFINITELY smells the food and knows to stand under the dining table to beg. But all refreshing NORMAL things dogs do. There are still instances, louder noises and new people and when she's not sure that she cowers and shakes, but it's less and less. It's been 2 weeks, things are progressing better than I planned.
