Look who found a comfy spot

Image
We've been reluctant to let our fosters into the carpeted areas because we've had to clean them over and over again until we convert them to flooring this summer. BUT, Riley has been really good about going outside even with the snow!! So we thought we'd give it a try, and I think she found a comfy place to lay.

Day 1

I think her previous foster home definitely made progress in that she's curious. She sniffs, she explores and she knows the inside of a home. Now we'll start figuring out what else to make her a bit more comfortable in a home with hoomans.   This is truly much better than I anticipated based on what I was told. lol. I'll post some updates as our journey with Riley continues.

Meeting Riley

Riley comes with lots of history. Once upon a time she arrived from Alabama and one of the rescue volunteers saw her and immediate knew she had to help Riley break out of her shell so she could be adopted. 5 months later, there are good days, there are bad days. Progress has been made but not sure what the next steps are.  Fast forward...SHY DOG to the max. She was carried into my car. Likes to hide in a corner, averts all human gaze, loves other dogs and potty training affected by shyness and the winter.  Nothing I've not encountered. Let's take a crack at this. Car ride...panting, looking out the window, half relaxed, half concerned. Started on the floor, then eventually made it to the seat, then one open window and hearing a stranger's voice, BAM, stomping on all the baby tote treats. lol Next post will be DAY 1 videos....have a look.
